Over the past month, I’ve read two books “Referral Engine” by John Jantsch and “Free Prize Inside” by Seth Godin that are going to dramatically change the way I look at my business.

That got me to thinking about all of the other books that I’ve read in the past year that I thought were great, but now sit on my book shelf, collecting dust.

What about blog posts that provide a lot of useful information that I simply forget about?

I’m guessing I’m not the only person who does this.

(Just as I was writing this, a post titled “Stop Reading and Take Action” just flashed into my email. Worth checking out.)

I’m going to try an experiment. Over the course of the next few weeks, I’m going to consume less content (gasp!). Instead, when I read or watch something, I’m going to actively pay attention with a pen and notebook and see if I can take away any nuggets of information and apply them to my business and my life.

How about you? How do you plan to improve your business with the information that currently exists?
